Yes, during the academic year (February – November) if you choose to park on campus you are required to pay for your parking. For the months of December and January there is no charge for parking on campus.
You can pay for your parking using ParkMate or with coins at the meter. ParkMate is an app based payment system. The charges on ParkMate are the same cost as paying at a meter. Permits are purchased from the Younited office.
If you choose to pay at the meter or to use the ParkMate app parking costs $1 for 4 hours and $0.25 per hour after that, with a minimum charge of $1. Costs for permits are as follows:
For a first infringement you will receive a warning ticket, on a second infringement you will receive a $60.00 breach notice. If the fine is not payed within 21 days of the breach date a further $20.00 + GST is added to the fine. If the breach notice remains unpaid for a further 30 days, debt collection proceedings will commence.

If you think you have been unjustly breached, you can appeal the ticket online on the frog parking website frogparking.com/appealticket/eit All appeals must be received within 14 days of the breach date.
There are no free carparks on campus during the months of February to November. There are some free roadside carparks at the entrance to EIT, and there is free parking at the back of Pettigrew Green Arena.
Yes, there are 133 bike racks on campus.
Yes, there are 13 motorcycles parks on campus. Motorcycle parking is free. Motorcycles can park anywhere there is spare space on the perimeter of the campus but if they take an allocated car parking space, they need to pay for that park.
There are 33 mobility car parks on the Taradale campus. To use these car parks you must have an EIT mobility permit. To get a permit visit the Disability and Wellbeing Office in the Library. This permit will enable you to park in any of the parks at EIT, except for the Visitor Parking.

The visitor parking area is intended for short term parking only. The charge for these parks is $1.00 per hour.
